The
Visitor
by 1/2K
One Friday,
In the classroom of 1/2K,
someone
visited.
She came to us in her own little cage.
It had an upstairs and a downstairs and her very own bedroom.
Her little ears were pale pink and see-through.
Her eyes were the colour of a bird in the night.
She had white-as-an-arctic-wolf fur,
A black ninja hood,
And a black line across her back like a scar.
Her scaly tail, looked like metal, long and thin, like a
tiny crocodile’s tail.
We learnt her cousins are bunnies, guinea pigs and mice but...
she was the cutest of all.
She sat on Dan’s arm and nibbled on her food. She held it in
her hands like a human eating a sandwich.
Rosemary the rat was on my shoulder and her little claws
scritch-scratched.
When I held her I felt a bit fizzy fuzzy.
She was heavier than I thought.
She felt tickly.
She moved quickly.
She was as funny as a clown and as sweet as a baby cupcake.
Rosemary the rat is Dan’s pet.
But I wish she was
mine.
