Today is a special day. It's the first day of Spring and it's also Wattle Day!!
Our classroom had a visit last night from our lovely, kind friend..... Wally the Winter Woolly Fairy!!! He came to collect the winter woollies from the containers around our room. The funny thing is, he forgot one, the one on our plant pot. You might have seen the cute jumpers if you've visited our room in the last three months. Wally's going to take the jumpers home and wash them and pack them away until next winter. Maybe he could take them to a classroom on the other side of the world for winter!
If you want to read more about Wally you can see our Winter post here:

Wally also left us a big beautiful bunch of fluffy, yellow wattle flowers and to celebrate Wattle Day we learnt all about wattles. Some of us read about wattles and insects (we found out that leafy stick insect eggs look just like wattle seeds, to fool wattle seed collecting ants) and some of us designed a wattle costume and wrote a letter to Wally. Check out our costumes below!!
