Over the weekend, a freshwater crayfish (yabbie) snuck into our classroom fish tank. It wrote us a letter and left it stuck to the whiteboard. The letter was wet and soggy and crumpled. The yabbie has six legs; two big, snappy claws; long antennae (some big and some short). It's a brownish, yellowish, greenish colour and it has a bit of red on its elbows. It has little eyes that look at us and it's made itself a bed. We have some tiny little fish in the tank that we think it will eat.
Tomorrow in our class meeting we're going to give the yabbie a name!
